Anyone else looking for ACT tips 2025 and still feeling stuck on the science section specifically? I feel like every guide says the same stuff about skimming faster and not reading everything, but when I try that, I either miss details or panic and waste time going back.
My current problem is pretty specific:
- English is okay for me
- Reading is inconsistent but manageable
- Math is not great, but at least I know what to practice
- Science is where my score drops the fastest because of timing
I keep running into this pattern where the first few passages feel fine, and then by the last couple I am rushing so much that I barely even process the graphs. If there is one passage with conflicting viewpoints, that one especially throws me off.
For people who have improved recently, what actually worked for you in 2025 prep?
I am mainly trying to figure out:
- Did you read the passage first or go straight to the questions?
- How much time did you give yourself per passage?
- Did you practice science separately every day, or just inside full tests?
- Was there a certain resource or drill that helped with graph-heavy questions?
- How did you deal with the conflicting viewpoints passage without burning too much time?
I have done a few timed sections already, and my biggest issue is that I do not always know why I got something wrong. Sometimes it is content, but honestly most of the time it feels like I read too fast, missed one label on an axis, and then picked the trap answer. So if anyone has a good review method for missed science questions, I would love that too.
Also wondering whether people think the best ACT tips 2025 are more about strategy than content at this point. Science does not feel super hard conceptually, but the pacing makes it feel way harder than it should be.
One thing I have not tried yet is doing untimed science sets first and then redoing them timed. Did that help anyone, or is it better to just stay timed from the start so you build stamina?
If you raised your science score by even 2 or 3 points, what changed? I am not looking for a perfect method, just something realistic because right now I feel like I am practicing a lot without fixing the actual problem.
Would really appreciate any advice from people who had the same issue.
