I’m trying to build a stronger personal brand across my apps, but every “why us” and community prompt is starting to sound weirdly polished and not like me.
My main problem is figuring out the line between:

- and sounding repetitive or fake
Like, if my core thing is community-building and making spaces feel welcoming, do I keep that in multiple supplementals or is that bad? I’ve seen some supplemental essay examples 2025 where everything connects nicely, but I can’t tell if that’s smart branding or just over-editing.
Also, how do you make each school-specific essay feel genuinely different without inventing a whole new personality for every application?

Right now I have decent drafts, but they read like I know how to answer prompts instead of like an actual person. If anyone has a method for checking whether an essay sounds personal vs strategically curated, please share.
I’d honestly even take a simple rule of thumb, like one core trait, different angles for each school or something like that.
