I had been stuck at a 6.5 in IELTS Writing Task 2 for ages, and it was super frustrating. I tried to cram in big words and fancy phrases, but that just wasn’t cutting it. What really helped me get to that elusive 7 was focusing on clarity over complexity.
Here’s what I did: each paragraph contained one main idea, starting with a clear topic sentence followed by a specific example. I realized my conclusions were introducing completely new points, which was such a mistake! I changed that and now my conclusions wrap up what I already discussed.
