GRE vs GMAT for graduate school made way more sense once I stopped reading generic advice and compared them side by side for my own list. If you are stuck, make a simple doc with: target programs, which test they accept, average scores if posted, quant/verbal strengths, and how much prep time you realistically have.
What helped me most:
- GRE: usually broader acceptance across non-business grad programs
- GMAT: better fit if you are mainly applying to business school
- Quant style: GMAT felt more logic/data-heavy to me, GRE felt a bit more straightforward
- Verbal: GRE vocab was a bigger factor for me
Also check if your programs are test optional this cycle. That changed my whole plan.
