I feel completely stuck on how to kick off my Common App essay. I keep hearing about hooks and powerful openings, but honestly, I have no idea where to begin. Every time I try to write an opening line, it feels forced and unnatural.
Has anyone found a way to make the starting process smoother? Maybe it’s about just getting something down first before worrying about it sounding perfect?
