How I transformed my college application resume from a mess to a masterpiece

When I started crafting my resume for college applications, I was way too focused on cramming every little thing I’d ever done onto the page. It looked chaotic, and honestly, it didn’t represent me well at all.

After some serious revisions, I decided to organize my resume into clear sections: Education, Extracurricular Activities, Awards, and Projects. This made it way more digestible for whoever was reading it.

I also learned that numbers speak volumes. Instead of just saying I tutored younger students, I included specifics like, “Tutored 15 students weekly for 4 months, improving their grades by an average of 20%.” That little change made a huge difference!

Take the time to tailor each section, and don’t be afraid to cut out stuff that doesn’t add value. Less is often more when it comes to resumes!
