Band 6.0

I disagree that living in a country where individuals are require to speak foreign language will impacting the society negatively. Instead, it bring more benefit both for the locals and foreigners who stayed in the same states. Living in a states where ones have to communicate using other languages is actually an opportunity to learn and participate in a new community. There can be early difficulties, but with preparation and support they need not become serious long-term problems.

Using another language can initially make ordinary tasks slower. A newcomer may need help understanding a rental agreement or explaining a problem at an appointment. Social conversations can also be difficult when they contain unfamiliar humour or expressions. These challenges deserve recognition, but they do not establish that living in a foreign-language environment necessarily produces serious or lasting problems.

There are practical ways to reduce the difficulty. Learners can prepare useful vocabulary before an appointment, ask for clarification and use appropriate translation support. Classes and patient colleagues can help them build confidence through repeated practice. Important services should provide suitable assistance where misunderstanding could have serious consequences, rather than expecting every newcomer to manage immediately without help.

Social interaction itself can become an opportunity for learning. Joining a local activity allows someone to communicate around a shared interest, where the conversation has an understandable context. As their skills improve, they may develop relationships and gain a clearer understanding of the community. These benefits do not require perfect language from the beginning, although progress usually needs time and effort.

I therefore disagree with treating the use of a foreign language as a problem in itself. Serious difficulties are possible when a person lacks both proficiency and support, but that is a more specific claim. The outcome depends on preparation, available assistance and opportunities to participate, rather than on the foreign status of the language alone.

In conclusion, newcomers may face early obstacles, but many can manage them and benefit from the experience. A balanced assessment should distinguish temporary learning challenges from serious problems and recognise the conditions that help residents adapt.
