Ideas to explore

  • Acceptance can reduce stress when circumstances cannot be changed quickly, such as during a prolonged job search.
  • Practical steps, including training or applying for other positions, may improve an unsatisfactory work situation.
  • People facing financial pressure can combine acceptance of immediate limits with budgeting, additional work, or seeking reliable advice.

Suggested structure

  1. Introduce both views and state a balanced personal position.
  2. Explain why acceptance can be useful, supported by a work or money example.
  3. Present the case for taking action, with practical steps that could improve the situation.
  4. Conclude by distinguishing what people cannot control from what they can realistically change.

Band 6.0

A bad situation may occur at any time, and we can hardly do anything against it even if we are well prepared. Sometimes it is possible to evade problems by handling them smartly and keeping cool. Some people accept the prevailing condition and hand themselves over to fate, whereas some people improvise the condition to improve it through practical action. In my view, neither response is suitable in every case: people should consider whether the problem can realistically be changed and how much it affects their lives.

Accepting a difficult situation may protect a person from unnecessary stress. For example, if someone has applied for many jobs but cannot immediately find a better one, keeping their current job while accepting that change may take time is sensible. A shortage of money can also be caused by events outside a person's control, such as illness or a sudden rise in living costs. In these circumstances, acceptance can help people focus on managing their budget instead of blaming themselves.

However, simply accepting every problem may prevent improvement. Someone who is unhappy at work could discuss their concerns with a manager, seek training, or apply for other positions. Similarly, people facing financial problems can make a budget, look for additional work, or ask for reliable advice. These steps do not guarantee success, but they may create better opportunities than waiting for circumstances to change.

Overall, I believe people should first accept what they cannot control, while taking practical steps to change what they can. This balanced approach avoids wasting energy on unavoidable difficulties without giving up on realistic ways to improve life.

Targeted Improvement Tips

1
Replace the broad opening with a direct introduction that names the two responses: accepting difficulties and taking steps to change them.
2
Develop each main view with one clear reason and a specific example, then explain how that example supports the view.
3
Check collocations when revising: use combinations such as “improve a situation,” “accept a limitation,” and “manage a shortage of money.”
