finally cracked 7 in writing task 2 - here’s my game plan

IELTSIELTSwriting tipsband 7Task 2

After two frustrating attempts, I finally hit a 7 in IELTS writing Task 2! It felt like I was just spinning my wheels at 6.5 for so long. What turned things around for me? Honestly, it wasn’t about learning tons of new vocabulary.

Here’s what I focused on:

  • One Idea per Paragraph: I learned to stick to one main idea per paragraph. This kept my writing clearer and easier to follow.
  • Topic Sentences First: Starting with a topic sentence made it crystal clear what I was discussing. It set the tone for the whole paragraph.
  • Use Specific Examples: Instead of vague statements, I included specific examples related to the topic. It showcased my point much better.
  • No New Points in Conclusions: I stopped bringing up new ideas in my conclusions. Just summarizing my main points worked way better.

It took a lot of practice, but these small tweaks made a huge difference in my score!
