Any TOEFL writing task 2 tips that helped you raise your score quickly? The biggest thing that worked for me was stopping the “write whatever comes to mind” approach and using a super basic structure every time.
- Intro: answer the question clearly in 1-2 sentences
- Body 1: one main reason + one example
- Body 2: second reason + one example
- Conclusion: restate your opinion, nothing fancy
I also started giving myself only 3 minutes to plan before writing. That fixed a lot of my coherence issues. Another small tip: use simple sentences you can control instead of forcing big vocabulary.
If you want a quick check, read each paragraph and ask: does this support my main opinion? If not, cut it.
