how do IB predicted grades actually affect college applications?

I’ve been hearing mixed opinions about IB predicted grades and how they impact college admissions. Some say they’re crucial for Ivy leagues, while others think they don’t hold much weight. How much do colleges really look at them? Is it better to aim for higher predicted grades or should I focus more on my overall application? Would love to hear from anyone who's been through it!
