Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into the whole college essay thing, and I keep wondering: how personal should a college essay really be? I mean, it’s tough to strike that balance between sharing enough to be authentic without oversharing and sounding too dramatic. From what I've seen, schools love genuine stories, but they don't need your entire life history. Start with a moment that defines you, but make sure it ties back to who you are now and your future ambitions.
Also, if you can connect it to why you want to be at that school, even better! What worked for me was reflecting on my personal experiences without getting too deep into the weeds. Anyone else have thoughts on this?
