how to improve SAT score in 30 days: the study plan I’d use

If you’re googling how to improve SAT score in 30 days, I honestly think the biggest mistake is trying to do everything at once. A month is enough to improve, but only if your prep is really targeted.

This is the simplest plan I’d recommend:

  1. Take one full practice test at the start.
Not to grind tests every day, just to find your weak areas fast. Split mistakes into categories like algebra, grammar rules, transitions, vocab in context, timing, careless errors.
  2. Spend most of the month on mistake review.
Create a wrong answer log. For every miss, write: what type it was, why you picked the wrong answer, and what clue you missed. This helped me way more than just doing random questions.
  3. Do short daily sets.
Something like 45-60 minutes math, 30-45 minutes reading/writing. Keep it focused on your weakest 2-3 areas instead of “general SAT practice.”
  4. Memorize the repeatable rules.
Especially for Writing. Commas, semicolons, subject-verb agreement, verb tense, pronouns, transitions. Those points are usually the fastest to gain in 30 days.
  5. Retake a full test each weekend.
One per week is enough if you review it properly. After each one, ask: am I missing content, rushing, or second-guessing?

A basic 4-week setup:

  • Week 1: diagnostic test + build error log
  • Week 2: drill weak areas daily
  • Week 3: timed sections + pacing fixes
  • Week 4: full tests, light review, no cramming

Big tip: don’t judge progress by one bad day. SAT scores can bounce around before they move up consistently.

If anyone wants, I can also post a super simple 30-day day-by-day schedule.
