How to improve TOEFL speaking score if your main problem is not grammar, but just freezing halfway through the response?
That is exactly what keeps happening to me. I understand the question, I can think of ideas during prep time, but once I start speaking I either talk too slowly, repeat myself, or panic when I lose one word. My practice scores are stuck and I really want to improve my TOEFL speaking score before my test date.
If anyone raised their speaking score, what actually helped?
- Did you practice with templates, or did that make you sound too robotic?
- How much did pronunciation matter compared to fluency and organization?
- Did recording yourself every day help, and if yes, what exactly were you listening for?
- Any good way to stop blanking when the timer starts?
I am currently doing 1-2 speaking tasks a day, but I feel like I am repeating the same mistakes without fixing them. If you had a routine that worked, even a simple one, I would really appreciate it.
Also, if there is a specific score jump you made, like from 20 to 24 or something, please share what changed.
