If you're trying to figure out how to study for SAT in one month, the biggest thing that helped me was stopping the random prep and following the same routine every week. One month is short, but it's enough if you focus on weak spots instead of trying to do everything.
What worked for me:
- Take one full practice test first. Not to get a perfect score, just to see where you're losing points. I found out I was wasting way too much time on math question types I actually could learn fast.
- Split your week by section. I did reading/writing on weekdays and math every other day for about 45-60 minutes. Then one longer session on the weekend.
- Review mistakes harder than you practice. This part matters the most. For every missed question, I wrote down: what type it was, why I got it wrong, and how I should spot it next time.
- Memorize the repeat patterns. On SAT reading/writing, grammar and transitions come up a lot. On math, it was linear equations, percentages, and word problems for me. Repeated misses usually mean easy score gains.
- Do timed sets, not only full tests. Full tests are useful, but short timed drills helped me fix pacing way faster.
A simple 4-week plan:
- Week 1: diagnostic test + identify weakest areas
- Week 2: content review + timed drills
- Week 3: second full test + heavy mistake review
- Week 4: pacing practice + light review, no cramming the day before
Also, don't ignore sleep just because you're on a one month schedule. My score was always worse when I tried to grind late and do practice half-awake.
If anyone wants, I can also share the exact way I tracked mistakes in a super simple notebook setup.
