How to study for SAT in one month felt impossible when I started, so I stopped trying to do everything and got weirdly specific. I had 4 weeks, a mid score, and no time for some perfect study plan. What helped most was treating it like pattern training, not “studying” in the normal school way.
Week 1 I took one full Bluebook test and used the results to make a mistake log. Not just the question I missed, but why I missed it: rushed, misread, vocab gap, algebra setup, eliminated wrong answer too fast, etc. That log was honestly the biggest reason my score went up.
For weeks 2 and 3, I did this almost every day:
- 30-40 minutes SAT math from my weakest topics
- 30 minutes reading/writing question sets
- 20 minutes reviewing old mistakes
- 1 timed module a few times a week
I did not take a full test every day. I tried that first and just got tired and annoyed. Two full practice tests per week was enough for me, as long as I reviewed them properly after.
The biggest score jump came from fixing repeat mistakes. For reading/writing, I stopped picking answers that sounded nice and forced myself to point to the exact line that proved it. For math, I started writing out setups more carefully because half my misses were dumb equation errors, not hard concepts.
If you're wondering how to study for SAT in one month, my advice is: diagnose fast, drill the patterns, and review way more than you think you need to. One month is short, but it was enough for me to improve because I stopped being random about it.
Curious if anyone else found review way more useful than nonstop practice tests.
