how to study for SAT in one month without burning out

how to study for SAT in one month felt impossible at first, but what helped me most was stopping the random prep and giving each week a job. If you only have a month, I really think the goal should be efficient studying, not trying to relearn everything ever tested.

The biggest tip: do a short review cycle every single day instead of one giant exhausting session.

  1. Week 1: take a full practice test and figure out your patterns. Not just your score breakdown — literally write down what you keep missing. Mine were geometry formulas, vocab-in-context, and rushing the second math module.
  2. Week 2: target your worst area first. Bring the lowest section up before polishing the section you already kind of like.
  3. Week 3: mix timed sets with review. I did 25-30 minute chunks, then spent almost the same amount of time checking why I missed things.
  4. Week 4: full test, light review, repeat. Don’t cram new stuff at the end.

A few things that saved me:

  • Error log: keep a simple note with 3 columns: question type, why you missed it, what to do next time.
  • Formula/vocab reset: 10-15 minutes a day is enough if you actually repeat the weak ones.
  • Bluebook practice: do at least some prep in the real format so timing doesn’t feel weird on test day.
  • Guess and move: if you’re stuck, don’t let one question eat 3 minutes.

If I could redo my month, I’d spend less time “studying” and more time reviewing mistakes properly.

If anyone else is trying to study for the SAT in one month, make a plan that is boring and repeatable. That worked way better for me than motivational study marathons.
