how to study for SAT in one month without burning out?

SATSATstudy planone monthpractice tests

How to study for SAT in one month if your score is kind of stuck and you also have school stuff going on? I keep searching how to study for SAT in one month and most plans either look way too intense or way too vague, so I wanted to ask people who actually did it.

My test is in about 4 weeks. I am not starting from zero, but I am definitely not where I want to be yet. My biggest problem is that I waste time doing random practice questions and then convincing myself I studied, when really I did not fix anything. I also do this thing where one bad module makes me spiral and then the rest of the session is useless.

Current situation:

  • Math is inconsistent. Some topics feel easy, then I miss medium questions because I rush.
  • Reading/Writing is probably weaker overall, especially timing and those grammar questions where two answers look right.
  • I can study around 2-3 hours on weekdays and more on weekends, but not like 8 hours a day.
  • I have Bluebook tests left, but I do not want to waste them.

I am trying to figure out what a realistic 1-month SAT plan looks like. Like, should I be doing:

  1. one full practice test every weekend,
  2. review mistakes for a full day after,
  3. then topic drills during the week?

Or is it better to stop taking full tests so often and just grind weak areas? I genuinely cannot tell what gives the fastest score increase in a short time.

A few specific things I would love advice on:

  • How many full-length practice tests did you take in your last month?
  • Did you keep an error log, and if yes, what did you actually write in it?
  • For Reading/Writing, did your score improve more from question volume or from slowing down and reviewing patterns?
  • For Math, what was the fastest way to clean up careless mistakes?
  • How did you split time between schoolwork and SAT without getting fried?

I think my main issue is structure. If someone asked me to study right now, I would just open random questions and hope for the best. That has not worked.

Basically I need a plan that is intense enough to help, but realistic enough that I will actually follow it for 4 weeks.

If anyone improved a decent amount in one month, could you share what your schedule looked like? Even something simple like:

Mon: RW drills + review
Tue: Math topics + error log
Wed: mixed set
Sat: full test

would help a lot. Also if there is anything that is a total waste of time in the final month, please say that too because I am trying not to panic-study.

Would really appreciate honest advice, especially from people who had to figure out how to study for SAT in one month instead of prepping for like 6 months.
