When I was choosing, I kept googling ACT vs SAT which should I take and getting super generic answers, so here is the simple version that actually helped me.
- Pick ACT if you are fast, okay with more straightforward questions, and stronger in science/data charts.
- Pick SAT if you like a little more time per question, are good at algebra, and prefer fewer sections.
- Take one full practice test of each before deciding. That mattered way more for me than any comparison chart.
My quick rule: if pacing destroys you, SAT usually feels better. If you work fast and do not mind the harder time pressure, ACT can be a good fit.
Also do not choose based on what your friends take. Choose the one where your practice score feels more natural.
