It comes with benefits like having on-campus job opportunities, and after you graduate, you can apply for OPT (Optional Practical Training) to work in your field for up to 12 months.
On the other hand, the J1 is perfect for internships or research opportunities, and it's great if you want to gain work experience while being a student. But keep in mind, some J1 programs might require you to return to your home country for a couple of years after your program ends, which is called the 212(e) home residency requirement.
