A month before my test, I kept searching TOEFL preparation plan one month because most advice was either way too intense or way too vague. So I made a simple 4-week plan that actually felt doable, and I figured I’d drop it here in case anyone else needs a realistic resource.
Week 1: figure out your baseline
- Take one full practice test or at least one section from each part.
- Write down your weak spots, not just your total score.
- Start a vocab list, but only from real passages/listening clips you miss.
Week 2: focus on 2 weak sections
- Pick your lowest two sections and spend most of your time there.
- For reading: timed passage practice + review why each wrong answer is wrong.
- For listening: replay short clips and summarize the main idea in 1-2 sentences.
- For speaking: record yourself daily, even 1 response is enough.
- For writing: do one integrated or independent task every other day.
Week 3: build stamina
- Do mixed practice under time pressure.
- At least twice this week, combine reading + listening + speaking/writing in one sitting.
- Use templates for speaking and writing, but don’t memorize giant scripts.
Week 4: test mode
- Take 2 full-length practice tests if possible.
- Review repeated mistakes only. Don’t try to learn everything at once now.
- Fix timing issues and cut down hesitation in speaking.
My daily schedule was basically:
- 30-40 min reading/listening practice
- 20 min vocab/error review
- 20-30 min speaking or writing
- 1 short timed task
Biggest thing that helped: review mattered more than just doing endless questions.
If you’re making your own TOEFL preparation plan one month before the exam, keep it boring and consistent. 2-3 solid hours a day with review is way better than one huge panic study session on weekends.
