I just had my F1 visa interview last week, and honestly, it was nerve-wracking. I thought I was prepared, but I was still caught off guard by a couple of questions. For anyone else who’s been through it or is about to, here’s what I learned:
- Practice your answers: I had some common questions down, but the officer asked me something I hadn’t prepared for. I recommend having a friend do a mock interview with you.
- Be clear about your study plans: Make sure you can explain why you chose your school and what your goals are clearly. This seemed to matter a lot in my case.
- Financials matter: Be ready to explain how you’re funding your studies. I brought all my documents, and it paid off.
Has anyone else had a recent interview? What worked for you? Were there any surprises that I should be aware of before I recommend it to my friends?
