If you're like me and find the TOEFL reading section overwhelming, you're not alone! I struggled at first, but a few strategies really helped me boost my score. Here’s what worked for me:

  • Preview the questions: Before diving into the passage, quickly skim through the questions. This way, you know what to look for and can save time.
  • Focus on keywords: Identify keywords in the questions and highlight or jot them down. This makes it easier to scan the passage later.
  • Practice active reading: Don’t just passively read the text. Annotate and summarize sections in your own words. This improves retention and understanding.
  • Time management: Set a time limit for each passage. I usually spent about 15 minutes on each passage and its questions—practice makes perfect!
  • Review wrong answers: After practice tests, spend time reviewing any answers you got wrong. Understanding why you missed them is key to improvement.

Give these tips a shot, and keep practicing! You got this!
