The week I started looking up SAT reading and writing tips was also the week I realized I was practicing a lot but not actually improving. I kept missing the same kinds of questions and just hoping more passages would fix it.
What helped most was splitting every mistake into 3 buckets: vocab in context, command of evidence, and grammar/punctuation. For reading, I forced myself to underline the exact line that proved my answer before I clicked anything. That alone cut down on my “this sounds right” mistakes.
For writing, I stopped treating grammar as random rules and made a tiny list of repeats: commas, semicolons, subject-verb agreement, and sentence placement. I reviewed that list for 10 minutes a day.
Not a crazy method, but my section scores got way more consistent after that.
