TOEFL writing task 2 tips if your ideas feel too basic?

Does anyone have solid TOEFL writing task 2 tips for when your examples and reasons feel really simple? I can usually make the structure okay, but my essays still sound kind of flat and repetitive.

My main problem is thinking of better supporting ideas fast enough. I either repeat the same point in different words or give examples that feel too general. If you improved this part, what actually helped?

I would really appreciate specific advice on:

  • planning in 3-5 minutes
  • writing clearer topic sentences
  • making examples sound more natural
  • avoiding repetition in task 2

If you have any practice method that worked, please share because writing is easily my weakest TOEFL section right now.
