So, I’m getting ready to ask a few professors for recommendation letters, and I’m not sure what materials I should provide them to make it easier for them. Anyone have tips?
I’ve heard it helps if you give them your resume, a personal statement, and maybe details about the programs you’re applying to. This way they can tailor their letters better, right?
- Resume: It should highlight your accomplishments related to their class or your major.
- Personal Statement: This gives context about your goals.
- Program Info: Share info on what specifically you’re applying for and why.
Has anyone else had success with this approach? I want to make it as easy as possible for my recommenders to write a strong letter!
