Provided is the line graph illustrating the number of foreigners traveling to three separate regions namely the coast, the mountains and the lakes in Europe over the periods of 20 years, starting from 1987. Overall, it is apparent that there was an upward trend in three different categories and the number of travellers to the coast rose overall, despite an initial dip. It finished with the highest figure, while the lakes experienced the most dramatic fluctuation and the mountains remained comparatively stable. The coast attracted about 40 thousand visitors in 1987, falling to around 35 thousand in 1992. It then climbed steadily, reaching approximately 45 thousand in 1997, 60 thousand in 2002 and 75 thousand by 2007. The lakes began at just 10 thousand, but rose to about 25 thousand in 1992 and 40 thousand in 1997. Their figure then surged to a peak of 75 thousand in 2002, before dropping to 50 thousand in 2007. By comparison, visitor numbers for the mountains increased gradually from 20 thousand in 1987 to 25 thousand in 1992. They reached 30 thousand in 1997, remained at roughly that level in 2002, and ended at 35 thousand. Thus, the coast and lakes both recorded substantial overall growth, whereas the mountain total changed more modestly.
