IELTS preparation is not just about “learning English.” To get Band 7+, you need to understand the test format, practice under time pressure, and improve your weak skills with feedback.
Start with a diagnostic test. Check your current level in Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Most students waste time because they study everything equally, even when one section is clearly pulling their overall score down.
For Listening, practice with real accents and learn how to predict answers before the audio plays. For Reading, focus on skimming, scanning, keywords, and time management. For Writing, learn Task 1 and Task 2 structures, but do not memorize full essays. For Speaking, practice answering naturally, expanding ideas, and using topic-specific vocabulary.
A good IELTS study plan should include daily practice, weekly mock tests, and detailed review. The review part matters the most. If you only complete tests without analyzing mistakes, your score may stay the same for months.
The fastest way to improve is simple: test, get feedback, fix mistakes, and repeat.
