The three different maps illustrate that significant changes have occurred at West Park Secondary School between 1950 and 2010. Additionally, there is an interim map that outlines the changes that took place during this period. To begin with, the maps indicate that the school has become more popular and spacious, featuring an extensive car park. In 1950, houses occupied the northwestern area, while farmland lay to the south. The school building stood in the northeast, with a playground immediately south of it. By 1980, the houses and farmland had disappeared, and the site had been reorganised: a car park occupied the northwest, a science block was added beside it, and the main school building remained in the northeast. To the south, a sports field replaced the former farmland, while the playground stayed in the southeast. In 2010, the main road, science block, school building and playground were still in the same general locations. The car park, however, had expanded southwards over much of the area previously used as a sports field, leaving a smaller sports field between the parking area and the playground. Overall, the maps show a shift from a mixed residential and agricultural site to a more developed school complex with additional facilities. The main road remained unchanged, and the school building and playground retained their positions.
