The line graph illustrates the figure for overseas travellers to three different areas in a European country from 1987 to 2007. Overall, it is obvious that the number of tourists travelling to three areas increased over the period. In addition, coastal areas attracted the largest amount of people to visit here. In 1987, 40 thousands visitors travelled to the coast, while 20 thousands went to the mountains and 10 thousands to the lakes. The coast had the highest number at the start. In 1992, visitors to the coast fell slightly to about 35 thousands. At the same time, mountain and lake visitors were both around 25 thousands. After that, the coast number rose to about 45 thousands in 1997, and it continued to increase to 60 thousands in 2002. It reached around 75 thousands by 2007. The lakes also increased, from 10 thousands in 1987 to about 40 thousands in 1997. Their figure then rose sharply and reached a peak of approximately 75 thousands in 2002. However, it dropped to 50 thousands in 2007. The mountains changed more slowly. Their number went up from 20 thousands to 30 thousands by 1997, stayed at about this level in 2002, and finished at 35 thousands. Therefore, while the coast finished as the most popular area, the lakes had the highest figure in 2002.
