Band 5.0

Dear Sam, I hope this letter finds you well. It’s been a while we last caught up and I trust everything is going smoothly for you. I’m writing this letter to express that I’m delighted to assist you in your college project about celebration new year in my country. The new year ceremony in my country is one of the most important events of the year. It gives people a chance to leave the difficulties of the past year behind and hope for a better future. Many people start preparing several days earlier. They clean their homes, buy food, and decorate their rooms with lights. On New Year's Eve, families and friends get together to share a meal and talk. At midnight, people count down together, watch fireworks in some areas, and call relatives who cannot join them. The next morning, some people visit older family members and wish them good health and happiness.

What I like most is the feeling of being close to other people. Even relatives who are busy during the year try to spend time together. I also enjoy the excitement of the countdown and the chance to make plans for the months ahead. For me, it is not only a celebration; it is a fresh beginning.

I hope these details are useful for your project. Let me know if you need any more information, and I’d be happy to help.

Best wishes, Your friend

Targeted Improvement Tips

1
Add one real, country-specific New Year custom or food so the description is more informative for Sam’s college project.
2
Use a clear paragraph for the celebrations and a second paragraph for what you personally enjoy; this will make the three requested points easy to follow.
3
Proofread the opening for the phrase “since we last caught up,” natural noun phrases, and consistent capitalization of “New Year.”
