do you like your home town

Sample answer

Well, I like my hometown, but I'm also living in it. I like my hometown because there are many facilities, like, uh, getting buses and the, uh, K center are easily available in the hometown.

Answer analysis

Fluency & Coherence

The answer follows a clear sequence: you state that you like your hometown, give a reason (“because there are many facilities”), then offer examples. The second sentence could develop the answer more smoothly by linking the bus services and K center directly to why you like living there. Practise a 30-second response using this same sequence, recording it and checking whether each example clearly supports your reason. Fluency cannot be assessed from text alone.

Lexical Resource

You use relevant topic vocabulary such as “hometown” and “facilities,” and “easily available” communicates convenience. However, “getting buses” is an awkward collocation, and repeating “hometown” makes the short answer less precise. Try “bus services” or “public transport” and use “there” for the second reference. These small changes would make your description clearer while keeping the same ideas and details.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy

The answer includes a basic reason clause with “because,” so the relationship between your opinion and its explanation is understandable. In “the K center are easily available,” the singular noun phrase does not agree with “are”; use “is.” The opening “but I'm also living in it” is also an awkward way to add that you live there. Practise joining your opinion and current residence with “and I still live there.”

Pronunciation

This practice guide is not an assessment of a recording; pronunciation cannot be judged from the text. Practise the word stress in “hometown” and “facilities,” then say the thought groups “I like my hometown” and “because there are many facilities” with a brief pause between them. Record the answer twice, listen for clear word endings and the plural in “buses,” and compare the two recordings.

A transcript shows language and organisation. Fluency, delivery and pronunciation require an audio recording; the synthetic voice demonstrates the text, not the original speaker.

  • Replace “getting buses” with “bus services” or “public transport” when describing transport options.
  • Make subject–verb agreement explicit: say “the K center is,” because “center” is singular.
  • Add one short sentence explaining how the available facilities make your hometown convenient or pleasant to live in.
