Well, I tend to drink coffee because when I drink coffee, I feel better. It helps me to stay energized, too, especially at night. If I have more homework and studies, it makes me very strong.

Answer analysis

Fluency & Coherence

The answer develops in a clear sequence: you choose coffee, describe how it makes you feel, and connect it to studying at night. The final point, “it makes me very strong,” is less clear than the earlier explanation, so the response would benefit from a more specific ending. Practise a 30-second response using this answer: give your preference, one benefit, and one example of when you drink it.

Lexical Resource

“Stay energized” is a relevant phrase, and “especially at night” adds a useful detail. However, “drink coffee” is repeated, while “homework and studies” and “very strong” are not natural or precise choices for explaining the effect of coffee. Try replacing the repeated noun with “it” where clear, and choose a more exact phrase such as “helps me keep going” to express the intended benefit.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy

You use several simple clauses accurately, including “It helps me to stay energized, too.” The conditional structure “If I have more homework and studies, it makes me very strong” is understandable, but the wording around “homework and studies” is awkward, and the reference of “it” is not fully clear. Practise linking a clear condition to its result: “When I have extra studying to do, coffee helps me stay focused.”

Pronunciation

This is a text-only response, so pronunciation cannot be assessed; this practice guide is not an assessment of a recording. Practise the word stress in “energized” and “homework,” and group the answer into thought units: “I tend to drink coffee / because it makes me feel better / especially at night.” Record yourself saying it, then check whether each phrase is easy to understand and the key words are clearly stressed.

A transcript shows language and organisation. Fluency, delivery and pronunciation require an audio recording; the synthetic voice demonstrates the text, not the original speaker.

  • State your preference directly in the first clause, then give one clear reason instead of repeating “drink coffee.”
  • Replace “homework and studies” with a natural phrase such as “extra homework or studying to do.”
  • End with a specific link between coffee and studying, such as how it helps you keep going at night.
