Answer analysis

Fluency & Coherence

The answer follows a clear sequence: it identifies your current university, names your subject and languages, then moves to career plans. The progression is easy to follow, although the final list of five possible roles gives the ending several competing points of focus. For practice, speak this answer in 20–30 seconds, then repeat it with one brief reason connecting linguistics to your preferred career. This text-only review cannot assess spoken fluency.

Lexical Resource

The answer uses task-relevant vocabulary, including “linguistics,” “translator,” “copywriter,” and “editor,” and the range of career terms makes your plans specific. “Focusing on English and German languages” is understandable, but “with a focus on English and German” sounds more natural and concise. As an optional refinement, choose one or two preferred roles and add a precise reason, if accurate, rather than ending with a long list.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy

Your sentences are grammatically controlled: “I'm currently a student” gives present information, while “I hope to work” expresses a future aspiration clearly. The participle phrase “focusing on English and German languages” also connects the subject to its focus, though its wording can be streamlined. To extend your range, you could add a short reason clause, such as explaining why you hope to become a translator, while keeping the sentence easy to say.

Pronunciation

Pronunciation cannot be assessed from this text, and this practice guide is not an assessment of a recording. Practise word stress in “linguistics” and “translator,” then group the response into thought units: “I'm currently a student at Sumy State University in Ukraine” / “I'm studying linguistics, focusing on English and German languages” / “After graduation, I hope to work as…” Record yourself, check that each phrase is clearly articulated, and compare your stress with a dictionary audio model.

A transcript shows language and organisation. Fluency, delivery and pronunciation require an audio recording; the synthetic voice demonstrates the text, not the original speaker.

  • Add one brief, truthful reason for focusing on English and German, such as what interests you about studying those languages.
  • If you have a leading career preference, name it first and connect it to linguistics; keep the other roles as alternatives.
  • Practise delivering the answer in 20–30 seconds, with a short pause between your studies and future plans.

Ideas to explore

  • Explain what you study and your current stage of study.
  • Give a brief reason for choosing the subject, such as family encouragement or personal interest.
  • Mention a challenge, an enjoyable aspect, and a future plan to make the answer personal and complete.

Suggested structure

  1. State your subject and year of study.
  2. Explain how you came to choose it.
  3. Describe one challenge and one part you enjoy.
  4. Finish with a short goal or reason the subject suits you.
