Uh, I'm originally from a small town, but I live in Namangan for the past 9 months because of my study. I love Namangan, but I still miss my hometown very much. There is something special about my city that I really appreciate.

Answer analysis

Fluency & Coherence

The ideas follow a clear sequence: you explain where you are from, say where you live now and why, then contrast your affection for Namangan with missing your hometown. The final sentence adds a personal feeling, though it stays general. For practice, give this answer in 30 seconds: use one sentence for your background, one for your current home, and one for what you miss or value. Add one specific detail only if it is true for you.

Lexical Resource

The vocabulary is clear and relevant, with useful phrases such as “originally from,” “miss my hometown,” and “something special.” These communicate your feelings without difficulty. The range is fairly simple, and “my city” is less precise after you have called it your hometown. As a refinement, use a more exact phrase such as “my hometown” and add one truthful descriptive word or detail to make your feeling more vivid.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy

You use simple sentences and a contrast with “but,” and the meaning is generally easy to follow. The clearest grammatical issue is “I live in Namangan for the past 9 months”: for a situation that began in the past and continues now, use the present perfect continuous, “I've been living.” “Because of my study” is also not a natural collocation here; “because of my studies” is more idiomatic. Practise these forms for ongoing situations and reasons.

Pronunciation

This is text only, so pronunciation cannot be assessed; the following practice guide is not an assessment of a recording. Practise word stress in “originally” (o-RIG-i-nal-ly), “Namangan” (check the locally used pronunciation), and “hometown” (HOME-town). Read in thought groups: “I'm originally from a small town / but I live in Namangan / for the past 9 months.” Record yourself, then check that each group is easy to understand and the key words are clear.

A transcript shows language and organisation. Fluency, delivery and pronunciation require an audio recording; the synthetic voice demonstrates the text, not the original speaker.

  • Change “I live ... for the past 9 months” to “I've been living ... for the past 9 months” when describing a situation that continues now.
  • Use “because of my studies” to express that your education is the reason you live in Namangan.
  • Practise a three-part answer—origin, current home and reason, then what you miss—and add one truthful detail about what feels special.

  • Describe one or two features of the place, such as its architecture and parks, rather than listing many attractions.

Suggested structure
