Answer analysis

Fluency & Coherence

The answer follows a clear sequence: it gives your origin, explains your current stay, then adds a personal feeling about home. The move from “I don't know” to “I still miss my hometown” is understandable, though the hesitation does not add much development. Practise speaking this answer for 20 seconds, then repeat it for 30 seconds by adding one brief explanation of what you cherish, without changing your personal facts.

Lexical Resource

Phrases such as “originally from Hanoi” and “really cherish” communicate your background and attachment to home clearly. The vocabulary is natural and relevant, but the answer relies on general wording such as “something special,” so the listener learns little about what makes the city meaningful to you. For more precise expression, add one genuine detail or feeling, rather than reaching for more elaborate vocabulary.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy

You use a clear contrast in “I am originally from Hanoi, but I live in Namalia City,” and your sentences are easy to understand. However, the comma before “for the past 9 months” interrupts the sentence, and “I live” is less suitable for describing a stay that began nine months ago and continues now. Practise using the present perfect continuous for this time relationship: “I have been living … for the past 9 months.”

Pronunciation

A recording was not provided, so this is a practice guide, not an assessment of a recording or your pronunciation. Practise the word stress in “originally” and “Hanoi,” then group the answer into thought units: “I’m originally from Hanoi / but I’ve been living in Namalia City / for the past 9 months.” Record yourself reading it, check that each phrase is easy to follow, and repeat any difficult words slowly.

A transcript shows language and organisation. Fluency, delivery and pronunciation require an audio recording; the synthetic voice demonstrates the text, not the original speaker.

  • Use “I have been living” with “for the past 9 months” to show that your stay began in the past and continues now.
  • Make the link between your hometown and “my city” clear by naming the place or saying “my hometown.”
  • Practise a 20-second version and a 30-second version; in the longer one, add one genuine detail about what you cherish.

Ideas to explore

  • Give the hometown’s name and country, then mention a personal connection such as being born and raised there.
  • Describe one or two features of the place, such as its architecture and parks, rather than listing many attractions.
  • Finish with a personal activity and feeling, such as enjoying walks because they are relaxing.

Suggested structure

  1. Name the hometown and country.
  2. Add a brief personal detail about your connection to the place.
  3. Describe a distinctive feature or two.
  4. End with an activity you enjoy and explain how it makes you feel.
