The table presents annual visits to three city libraries in 2015 and 2025, measured in thousands.
Overall, library use increased, driven principally by growth at Central. This library remained the busiest, while Hilltop, already the least visited location, was the only one to record a fall.
Central’s annual total climbed by half, from 120,000 to 180,000 visits. Riverside also gained visitors, but its increase was more modest: from 80,000 to 100,000, or 25%. Consequently, Central’s lead over Riverside doubled, widening from 40,000 visits in 2015 to 80,000 a decade later.
Hilltop moved in the opposite direction, with visits dropping by a quarter, from 60,000 to 45,000. By 2025, Central received four times as many visits as Hilltop, compared with twice as many in 2015. Across all three locations, the annual total rose from 260,000 to 325,000, a gain of 65,000 visits. The increase at Central alone was nearly as large as the net rise for the entire group, since Hilltop’s decline partly offset Riverside’s growth.
