Ideas to explore

  • Describe the process as a sequence from the farm to retail, rather than treating the products as unrelated items.
  • Mention the cold-storage stage and daily tanker delivery as important links between milking and dairy processing.
  • Distinguish the two visible product outcomes: pasteurized, packaged milk and cheese, cream and butter.

Band 6.0

The provided diagram shows the procedure of the production of milk and its other dairy products. Overall, the process ivolves seven steps through which the milk and dairy products are being sold to the markets and shops. Firstly, the cows grazing the green fields are transferred to milking machine which takes the milk from the cows. After milking, the fresh milk is kept in refrigeration storage. A milk tanker then collects it and delivers it to a dairy every day. At the dairy, the milk is processed and made into different products. Some of the milk is pasteurized and packaged, while the rest is used to produce cheese, cream and butter. The diagram shows that the cows are milked twice a day, while the tanker makes a daily delivery. In the final stage, the packaged milk and other dairy products are transported to supermarkets and shops for sale. The diagram therefore includes storage and transport before the milk reaches the dairy, followed by processing and distribution. These products are shown at the end of the process. Overall, production starts with cows grazing and ends with several dairy products being available to consumers.

Targeted Improvement Tips

1
Make the overview concise: state that the process runs from cows grazing to dairy products being sold, without repeating the ending later.
2
Describe the sequence in clear groups: milking and storage, tanker delivery, then dairy processing and distribution.
3
After drafting, check the opening specifically for the spelling of “involves,” the article before “milking machine,” and natural prepositions such as “in green fields.”
