The provided graph illustrates the number of foreign tourists that visited three different areas in a European country during the 1987 and 2007 years. Overall, it is noticeable that there has been a significant growth in overseas visitors to lakes and coasts, while mountain areas have not experienced an important interest over the 20 years. Looking first at the coast, it attracted about 40 thousand visitors in 1987, making it the most popular area, compared with 20 thousand for the mountains and 10 thousand for the lakes. By 1992, the number for the coast had fallen slightly to 35 thousand, while lakes and mountains both stood at around 25 thousand. In 1997, the coastal figure rose to approximately 50 thousand and lakes reached 40 thousand, while mountains increased to 30 thousand. The most dramatic change was in lake visitors, whose number climbed to around 75 thousand in 2002, overtaking the coast at about 65 thousand. However, the lake figure then dropped to 50 thousand by 2007. In contrast, coastal visits continued to rise, ending at roughly 75 thousand, the highest figure shown. Mountain visits increased gradually throughout the period, reaching about 35 thousand in 2007, and remained the least popular area from 1997 onwards.
