User Essay Analysis

The diagrams compare the layout of a single room and a double room for students at an Australian university. Overall, both types of rooms have essential amenities for students. However, the most noticeable differences between the two room types are the better equipment and larger areas in twin rooms, which come at the expense of a higher weekly rent. The twin room measures 6 metres by 4 metres, while the single room is also 6 metres long but only 2.5 metres wide. Its weekly rent is $350, compared with $200 for the one-person room.
In the two-person room, two beds are positioned along the right-hand side, with a study desk near each bed. A table and two chairs occupy the middle of the room, while a bookshelf is placed close to the bathroom. The kitchen facilities are arranged along the left wall.
The single room has one bed and one study desk, and no central table and chairs are shown. Its bathroom is in the upper-left corner, and its kitchen facilities are grouped along the lower-left side. Thus, although the two layouts share a bathroom, a bed, a desk and kitchen amenities, the double room provides additional furniture and greater floor space for an extra $150 per week.
