The maps depict the differences between the texture of single rooms and double rooms in a university in Australia. Overall, there are several discrepancies between two types of rooms, especially the arrangement. It is also noticeable that two-people room has more furniture than the room for one. As can be seen from the map, the two-person room is 6 metres long and 4 metres wide, while the single room has the same length but is only 2.5 metres wide. The weekly cost is also higher for the shared room, at $350 compared with $200 for one person.
In the two-person room, two beds are placed along the right-hand side, with a study desk near the top and another along the bottom. A table with chairs occupies the central area, while the bathroom is in the upper-left corner. The kitchen facilities are arranged along the left side. In comparison, the one-person room contains one bed and one study desk, and its bathroom is also at the upper left. Its kitchen area is compact and is positioned at the lower left. Unlike the larger room, it has no central table and chairs, and it has less floor space for movement.
Overall, both plans provide basic sleeping, study and cooking facilities, but the two-person option offers more furniture and space at a higher weekly price.
