  • The airport keeps its basic left-right arrangement: departures are on the left and arrivals on the right.
  • The future plan adds passenger services and replaces the walkway with a sky-train connection.

Suggested structure

  1. Paraphrase the task and identify the airport and planned timeframe.
  2. Give an overview of the largest changes, especially the increase in gates and added facilities.
  3. Describe the present terminal arrangement and its connection to the gates.
  4. Explain the future concourse shape, new services and sky-train link.
  5. End with a concise comparison of what stays similar and what changes.

Band 9.0

The plans illustrate how reconstruction in the next year will change the appearance of Southwest Airport compared to its present condition. Overall, the total number of gates, as well as the departure and arrival areas, will be increased. New facilities such as car hire places, ATMs, shops, and sky trains will be introduced, and the central walkway will be replaced by a sky-train link. At present, the airport has a compact layout: the security and passport-control section lies between the terminal and a short passage leading to eight gates. The main building is divided into departures on the left and arrivals on the right, with a café and a limited range of other facilities. After redevelopment, this basic arrangement will remain, but the terminal and gate area will be substantially larger. The concourse will extend farther north and branch into two arms, with gates numbered 1 to 18. The departure and arrival sides will still occupy the left and right portions of the building, respectively, while security and passport control remain at the rear. The new plan also includes baggage-drop facilities, an ATM and car hire, and a sky train will connect the terminal with the expanded gate area. Overall, the main changes are greater capacity and more passenger facilities.

Targeted Improvement Tips

1
Check the diagram legend item by item before listing facilities; replace the unsupported reference to shops with the baggage-drop feature shown.
2
State the main numerical comparison explicitly: the plan increases the gates from 8 to 18.
3
Make the layout comparison more specific by describing the present short passage and the future two-armed gate concourse, rather than relying mainly on general claims about larger areas.
