  • The airport keeps its basic left-right arrangement: departures are on the left and arrivals on the right.
  • The future plan adds passenger services and replaces the walkway with a sky-train connection.

Suggested structure

  1. Paraphrase the task and identify the airport and planned timeframe.
  2. Give an overview of the largest changes, especially the increase in gates and added facilities.
  3. Describe the present terminal arrangement and its connection to the gates.
  4. Explain the future concourse shape, new services and sky-train link.

Band 6.0

The plan given below summarizes the new phase of the southwest airport after it’s redevelopment in the following year.Overall, it is predicted to have many new departments which the airport currently lacks. To begin with, the airport is going to include ten gates which is more than the current amount the airport is having at present, where there are eight gates. After redevelopment, this number will increase to eighteen, arranged along two angled concourses extending from the central terminal.

The terminal itself will also be expanded. At present, the building has security and passport-control facilities on the left and passport control and customs on the right. These areas are retained in the proposed plan, while additional services are introduced. Check-in remains available, and a bag-drop facility is added. The new arrivals side will contain an ATM, a café, a sky-train connection and car hire, whereas the current plan shows only limited passenger facilities, including check-in and a café.

The departure and arrival areas remain on opposite sides of the terminal, with departures to the left and arrivals to the right in both plans. Overall, the redevelopment mainly increases gate capacity and adds passenger amenities, while keeping the basic layout and border-control functions.

Targeted Improvement Tips

1
Verify the proposed and current gate counts directly from the diagram before writing; the plans show eight gates now and eighteen after redevelopment.
2
Replace broad terms such as “departments” with the specific changes shown, including bag drop, an ATM, a sky train and car hire.
3
Proofread the opening separately for apostrophe use, plural verb agreement and spaces after full stops.
