Some people argue that parents are responsible for making their children have good social skills. Meanwhile, the others have an opinion that the children will learn how to be ready to socialize in public. We will discuss both statements in this article. We all know that family is an important part which can affect social life of children. Parents are with children from small age and they can teach them respect, sharing, and how to speak with other people. For example, when parents listen to their child and explain why they should not hurt someone, children can understand good behaviour. Also, children copy what parents do, so good example is very important.
On the other hand, school is also a place where children meet many people who are different. They have to work in groups and follow rules with classmates and teachers. This can help them learn to wait, solve small problems and communicate outside the family. Teachers also have experience and can explain how everyone should be treated equally. However, some children may not listen to a teacher, and school cannot teach every child individually.
In my opinion, parents have the first responsibility because children learn early habits at home. But school is also important because children practise their social skills with others. If parents and school work together, children can become more responsible and kind members of society. For instance, parents can talk with teachers when a child has problems with classmates and encourage the child to solve it politely.
To conclude, both parents and schools can teach children to behave well in society. Parents give early guidance and schools provide experience with other people. I believe that both are needed, but parents should start this teaching at home.
