Band 6.0

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to give you feedback about the evening computer course I attended at your community centre last month.

I really enjoyed the practical activities. Our teacher explained each step clearly, and I learnt how to create a spreadsheet and organise my files. Working in pairs was also helpful because we could discuss the exercises. These skills are useful for my office job, and I feel more confident using a computer now.

However, there was a problem with the equipment. Two computers did not work during the last lesson, so some students had to share. I waited while my partner completed the activity and did not have enough time to finish my own work. The lesson ended before I could ask the teacher for help.

I suggest checking all the computers before each class. It would also be helpful to keep one spare computer available. This would allow every student to practise without waiting for someone else.

Thank you for considering my comments.

Yours faithfully, Alex Morgan

Targeted Improvement Tips

1
Make the link between the equipment problem and your recommendations explicit, for example by stating that equipment checks would help prevent students from losing practice time.
2
Replace one or two familiar phrases with concise alternatives, such as “provide feedback on,” while keeping your wording straightforward.
3
When proofreading, check that each recommendation clearly addresses a problem already described; here, connect the spare computer to reducing the need to share.
