Band 8.0

Dear Sir or Madam,

Having recently completed your evening course in basic computing, I would like to share some feedback and suggest a small improvement.

I especially appreciated the practical emphasis of the lessons. The instructor used examples that reflected everyday office tasks, and the short exercises gave us a chance to apply each technique immediately. As a result, I can now organise shared files and prepare simple spreadsheets with considerably more confidence.

The only difficulty arose in the final session, when two computers failed to start. Several participants consequently had to share equipment, leaving each of us less time to practise independently. I was unable to finish the final spreadsheet exercise, despite having understood the demonstration.

Could the centre arrange a brief equipment check before each class and keep a spare laptop available? Sending participants the exercise files afterwards would provide a useful backup, allowing anyone affected by technical problems to complete the work at home.

I hope these suggestions are helpful. The course was otherwise well organised, and I would gladly attend a follow-up programme.

Yours faithfully, Alex Morgan

Targeted Improvement Tips

1
All letter points should be developed: enjoyment of practical computing, equipment failures and reduced practice, then a direct improvement. A polite request for equipment checks and spare capacity matches the problem.
2
Use an overview and group details by the actual comparison rather than describe every label in turn.
3
Check the quoted revisions and retain precise figures, dates, locations and tone.
