User Essay Analysis

The diagrams compare the layout and weekly costs of a two-person room and a single room for students at an Australian university. From a general perspective, both rooms share similar facilities and basic furniture for living activities. Nevertheless, the room for two people is significantly larger, better equipped, and costlier. It is also more appropriate for students sharing accommodation, while the single room is a cheaper option for one occupant.
Both rooms measure 6 metres in length, but the shared room is 4 metres wide, compared with 2.5 metres for the single room. Their weekly prices are $350 and $200 respectively, meaning the two-person option costs $150 more.
In terms of layout, each room contains a bathroom, a bed, a study desk and kitchen facilities, including a stove, sink and microwave. The shared room has two separate beds and two desks, labelled Bed 1 and Bed 2 and Study desk 1 and Study desk 2. It also includes a central table with chairs, providing a shared dining area. By contrast, the single room has one bed and one desk, and its kitchen fittings are arranged along the lower wall. The shared room therefore offers more sleeping and study space, as well as a dining set, whereas the single room uses its narrower floor area for one student and costs less.
