User Essay Analysis
Review the public answer with report-style highlights.
The diagrams provided illustrate the floor plans and associated costs of two distinct types of student accommodation at an Australian university: a shared room suitable for two occupants and a private room designed for a single resident. It is evident that the shared room is priced higher than the private room, yet it offers a larger floor area and more furnishings. The shared accommodation measures 6 metres by 4 metres, giving a total area of 24 square metres, whereas the single room is 6 metres by 2.5 metres, or 15 square metres. Thus, the two-person option is 9 square metres larger and costs $150 more per week. Both plans include a bathroom, a study desk, a bed, windows along the right-hand side and basic cooking facilities, including a stove, sink, microwave and cupboard. However, the shared room contains two beds and two study desks, as well as a central table with chairs, while the single room has just one bed and one desk and no dining set. Overall, the more expensive shared room provides substantially more space and furnishings for two residents, while the cheaper option is more compact and arranged for one.
