Band 6.0

The given diagram show a layout a two different student room at an Australian University Overall, the main differences between the two rooms are the prices, the sizes, the facilities and the number of people each room can accommodate. As can be seen from the diagram, the larger room is more expensive and has more space and furniture. It measures 6 metres wide and 4 metres long, while the room for one person is also 6 metres wide but only 2.5 metres long. Accordingly, the first room provides more floor area and costs $350 per week, compared with $200 for the smaller room.

The two-person room contains two beds and two study desks, as well as a central table with two chairs. By contrast, the single room has one bed and one desk, with no dining table shown. Both layouts include a bathroom and kitchen facilities, including a stove and sink. The diagrams also show storage and other appliances in the rooms. Overall, the two-person option is designed for sharing and studying, whereas the cheaper room is arranged for one student's basic needs.

Targeted Improvement Tips

1
Rewrite the opening with a complete, accurate sentence, then add a separate overview sentence identifying the main contrasts.
2
Report both room dimensions and weekly prices together: 6 by 4 metres and $350 for two people, versus 6 by 2.5 metres and $200 for one person.
3
Replace “storage and other appliances” with only clearly identifiable features from the plan, and check every subject–verb agreement and sentence boundary.
