  • The future plan adds passenger services and replaces the walkway with a sky-train connection.

Suggested structure

  1. Paraphrase the task and identify the airport and planned timeframe.
  2. Give an overview of the largest changes, especially the increase in gates and added facilities.
  3. Describe the present terminal arrangement and its connection to the gates.
  4. Explain the future concourse shape, new services and sky-train link.
  5. End with a concise comparison of what stays similar and what changes.

Band 9.0

The map illustrates the changes that will take place at Southwest Airport from the present to the following year after an upgrade. Overall, the airport will be expanded with more facilities and an improved transportation system to enhance customer service. Currently, the airport layout features a walkway entrance leading to eight gates. Further down, it is divided into two sections: departures on the left and arrivals on the right, with security/passport control and passport control/customs positioned above them. The current gate area is reached by a walkway and contains gates 1 to 8, while check-in and a café are also provided.

After redevelopment, this basic terminal arrangement will remain, but additional passenger facilities will be available, including a bag-drop point, an ATM and car hire, alongside check-in and a café. The most significant change is the expansion of the gate network: the number of gates will increase from eight to 18, extending out on both sides of the central route. A Sky train will run along this route between the terminal and the gates. Overall, the plans retain the airport’s principal departure and arrival functions while substantially enlarging the gate area and offering passengers more services and a new transport option.

Targeted Improvement Tips

1
Make the overview more comparative by stating that the gate count rises from 8 to 18, then identify the sky train as the major transport addition.
2
Use explicit subjects such as “the terminal” instead of “it” when describing sections, so each sentence has a clear reference.
3
Keep interpretations tied to visible evidence: describe the new services and transport link rather than asserting an unshown benefit such as improved customer service.
